Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is still on board for director Rahi Anil Barve’s upcoming film Pahadpangira. This latest update leaves her fans excited.

Earlier this year, several reports claimed that the 39-year-old actress had exited the project, which is being produced by Ekta Kapoor.

However, the director later denied those rumours, asking fans not to believe in them.

The latest media report says that the Haseena Parkar star will not only play the lead role but may also join the project as a creative producer. Though, there has been no official confirmation yet.

A source told, “Shraddha, who will begin shooting Laxman Utekar’s next in November, will finalise her commitment to this project after her 2026 schedule is planned. If everything goes well, the film could start by mid-2026.

Pahadpangira is a dark fantasy rooted in myth and folklore. She likes the originality of the story and believes it has potential to become a franchise.”

Directed by Tumbbad’s Rahi Anil Barve, Pahadpangira is said to explore themes of feminism set against the backdrop of the Sati practice.

Barve had earlier planned it as part of the Tumbbad universe but later reimagined it as a standalone film.

In May, some reports suggested that the Chhichhore lead and producer Ekta Kapoor had differences over fees, but he dismissed those claims, saying, “Please don’t believe the rumours. We’ll make an official announcement at the right time.”

Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in Stree 2, one of the biggest hits of 2024.
