Trade analyst predicted 100 crore weekend for Diwali 2025 release 'Thamma'
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thaama has hit the theatres with a bang on Diwali 2025.
The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film has gone beyond expectations on its very first day of release.
Early estimates suggest that the Dinesh Vijan production collected between Rs. 24 and 26 crores on day one, nearly 30 percent higher than what trade experts had predicted.
The film performed strongly across both single screens and multiplexes, with collections rising through the day, a sign that word of mouth is positive among viewers.
Trade analysts said the film once again proves the strength of the horror-comedy franchise, calling it one of the most successful universes in Indian cinema.
It has also become Ayushmann Khurrana’s biggest opening so far, even though it faced competition from another release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
A box office expert said, “If the momentum continues, a Rs. 100 crore weekend looks very likely.”
Packed with interesting cameos, Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik.
