Amar Khan faces backlash for her bold dress at Diwali event
Netizens slam Amar Khan, calling her fashion statement a tactic to get work in Bollywood
Pakistani actress Amar Khan faces criticism for her choice of a bold outfit at a Diwali celebration event.
Following the tradition from previous years, this year too, many people from the showbiz industry celebrated the Diwali festival with Hindu artists. Pictures from the event are circulating on social media.
In the photos, Ayesha Omar, Sarwat Gilani, Sanam Saeed, Ali Rehman, and other artists can be seen celebrating Diwali by putting tilak and sindoor on their foreheads.
While many praised the actors for showing solidarity by joining the cultural celebration, Amar Khan received backlash for her bold attire at the event.
In a carousel of pictures, which she posted on Instagram by herself, the 32-year-old was seen wearing a deep red satin saree paired with a matching halter-neck blouse.
She ties her hair back, wears a red bindi on her forehead, and completes her look with heavy earrings and a choker necklace. Her makeup is simple, with bold red lipstick that matches her outfit.
She earned praise from fellow actresses, including Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Minal Khan, but faced criticism from social media users for her revealing outfit.
An Instagram user commented, “Bollywood ma kam mangny ki ninja technique,” another wrote, “Asi Kya BAAT hui Joo ye sub Karna para.”
A third user slammed her, saying, “Had hy sharm ani chahiy in actors ko.” “Tarbiyat nazar arhi hai,” another comment read.
While many not only mocked and insulted the actress, others condemned the backlash and reminded them about the importance of religious tolerance.
However, despite facing so much backlash, the actress chose to remain tight-lipped and didn’t respond to any harsh comments.
