The debate around Deepika Padukone’s exit from Kalki 2 resurfaced when a social media user shared credits of Kalki 2898 AD on streaming platforms, showing the actress’s name missing.

The claim not only surprised fans but also sparked a wave of criticism toward the filmmakers.

However, later, several media outlets pointed out that the claim was baseless, as the 39-year-old actress’s name was still included in the end credits.

Some people, however, suspect that it might have been re-added after all the online buzz.

But Industry reports confirm there’s no truth to this. Her name has always appeared in the film’s end credits on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix India, and other platforms.

The confusion seems to have started from fan-edited screenshots and videos shared online, which made it look like her name was missing after Vyjayanthi Films announced on 18 September that she would not be part of Kalki 2.

Sources from the film’s team have again confirmed that no such edit was ever made. They explained that changing film credits on OTT platforms is not a quick or simple process,it involves several technical steps, including re-approvals and international file replacements.

A person close to the production said, “This entire claim is baseless. The Padmaavat star’s name has always been part of the official credits across all versions. People need to understand that names can’t just be added or removed overnight.”

Although Vyjayanthi Films has not released an official statement, anyone streaming Kalki 2898 AD today can see Padukone’s name exactly where it has always been, proving the rumours wrong.
