Justin Trudeau stirred headlines this Halloween after appearing in a shark costume with Katy Perry
In a playful yet suggestive twist, Justin Trudeau surprised fans this Halloween by dressing up as a shark, a choice now stirring fresh speculation about his relationship with pop icon Katy Perry.
Trudeau posted Instagram photos of himself alongside his 11-year-old son Hadrien, where the father-son duo staged a father-shark/son-surfer theme, complete with Hadrien in blood-splattered surfer costume and Trudeau in shark garb.
In his caption, Trudeau wrote, “Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left). We built the costumes together — a little father-son Halloween teamwork.”
According to Daily Mail, what has startled observers is the clear nod to Katy Perry’s iconic 2015 Super Bowl halftime show performance, which featured dancers in shark suits — most famously the “Left Shark”.
Moreover, Trudeau’s phrasing “to his left” and matching costume aesthetics have triggered widespread online commentary drawing a link between his Halloween ensemble and Perry’s earlier work.
The costume comes at a time when romance rumors between Trudeau and Perry have been gaining momentum, as per the outlet.
Additionally, the pair were seen holding hands in Paris during Perry’s 41st birthday festivities, and she subtly referenced Trudeau in an Instagram post tied to the occasion.
While neither has officially confirmed their relationship, the shark costume — and its layered possible reference — is being viewed by many as a creative way to “break the silence” on the romance speculation.
