Pakistani drama artist Zahid Ahmed has strongly criticized the show “Lazawal Ishq”, saying it promotes vulgarity and is driven by a dangerous mindset and agenda.

The 41-year-old actor recently appeared on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast, where he expressed displeasure over the reality show.

He said he would never support any show or idea that promotes vulgarity in any form.

According to Zara Yaad Kar star, he had objections to the show since the day it was announced and kept trying to find out who produced it, but no one seems to know who’s behind the production.

He said he’s more interested in finding out who the producer is, the person who made this show with a specific mindset, because that person surely knew it goes against our social and religious values.

Zahid Ahmed claimed that the producer deliberately avoided airing it on television to escape PEMRA regulations and instead released it on YouTube. However, by including Pakistani hosts and participants, the show was given a Pakistani identity.

The Besharam lead added that the producer of “Lazawal Ishq” used Pakistan’s name to put out content before the world that carries a dangerous ideology and agenda.

The  Ishq Zahe Naseeb actor further said he’s satisfied that the show is receiving nothing but criticism and backlash.

Meanwhile, the first episode of “Lazawal Ishq” was released on YouTube on September 29. So far, the episodes have faced heavy criticism, with viewers accusing the show of spreading obscenity in an Islamic country.

The show is hosted by actress Ayesha Omar, who claims it’s not a “dating show.”
