Diljit Dosanjh addressed the backlash, saying he holds no complaints
Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has finally reacted to the criticism he faced after appearing on Amitabh Bachchan’s show Kaun Banega Crorepati 17. The controversy began when some people opposed his appearance, while others targeted him for touching the Paa actor's feet on the show.
The Jatt & Juliet 3 actor addressed the backlash, saying he holds no complaints or grudges.
Taking to Twitter (formerly known as X), one user wrote, “Sad to see Diljit getting criticised from all sides — right/left wingers who hate Sikhs, and Khalistan supporters who hate him for KBC. It just shows how sick our society has become — hate everywhere, no matter the religion diljitdosanjh.”
Responding to the posts which mentioned the hate he received from both political and religious sides, Diljit wrote in Punjabi, “Nahi Nahi. Eh Oh Aap Hee Aa. Just Bande Nu Check Karda Ke Banda Kithey Ku Khadha Aapni Journey Ch. Manu Kisey Naal Shikayat Ni. SAB GOBIND HAI. ONE LOVE. ”
Earlier, a few days ago, the Crew actor reportedly received a threat from Sikhs for Justice(SFJ), an organization led by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The group accused him of insulting victims of the 1984 Sikh riots by touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet, claiming the actor had incited violence during that period. The group had even called for a shutdown of Dosanjh’s concert in Australia.
During the episode of KBC, Amar Singh Chamkila actor, won ₹ 50 lakh, which he donated to support flood relief efforts in Punjab, earning praise from fans for his generosity.
