History was made on the football field as Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little booted the longest field goal in NFL regular-season history.

The incredible kick, which stunned fans and players alike, travelled an unbelievable 68 yards as time expired in the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 22-year-old Little, a second-year player, stepped up for the attempt with the Jaguars trailing 6-0.

Despite having struggled with some shorter kicks recently, his powerful strike sailed perfectly through the uprights at Allegiant Stadium, shattering the previous record of 66 yards set by Justin Tucker in 2021.

The kick cut the Raiders’ lead to 6-3 at halftime and, according to his coach, sparked the team’s eventual 30-29 overtime victory.

Unlike the previous record-breaker that barely made it over the crossbar, Little’s 68-yard kick had plenty of distance to spare.

After the game, Little spoke about his mindset before the huge kick:

“You kick it long enough and you kick it straight enough, it’s gonna go in,” Little said.

He added that he told his holder, Logan Cooke, “Kick the ball as hard as I can.”

Little also described the long wait to see if the kick was good: “You go so far back and that ball takes a long time to get there so you don’t want to ever celebrate too early before the kick goes in. And so once I saw it clear the crossbar, that’s when I knew it was good.”

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will work with Little and the Jaguars to get items from the historic kick for their display cementing his place in NFL history.
