Zahid Ahmed’s comments on social media and content creators have started a new debate in Pakistan
Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed’s recent remarks about social media have sparked strong reactions across digital platforms.
Appearing as a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt's podcast, the Gentlemen actor harshly criticized content creators, saying he views social media with "hatred and disgust." He went on to call it “the most dangerous and evil human invention”, claiming that “those who create content then will end up in hell.”
His comments quickly went viral, drawing furious backlash from TikTokers and influencers who accused him of hypocrisy and judgmental behavior.
TikToker Alishbah Anjum shared photos of Zahid Ahmed on her Instagram with female co-stars, writing, “Talking about Islam with arms around someone else's wife. Stage pe dance interview meein deen. Calling content creators jahannumi while you’re busy hugging actresses dancing on stage and flexing your new nose job.”
Influencer Adnan Zafar, popularly known as Ken Doll, also reacted, saying, “When actors get hair transplants, it’s called beauty. When creators do it, we’re called fake. When actors perform on stage, it’s called art. But when we do it, we’re insulted.”
He further questioned, “Has a new religion been discovered inside the industry?”
TikToker Kanwal Aftab also shared the podcast clip on her Instagram story and wrote, “Apni martaba islam kahan gya tha? Kn hai ap? jannat ka pass ap dey rahe ho? Khud jannati ho? kese kese log hai apny giraybaan mai dekhty nhi logon per comments pass krte hai.”
Actor and influencer Khaqan Shahnawaz shared a video saying, “Zahid Ahmed is right that God doesn’t like people who show off too much. But determining who goes to hell or heaven isn’t our job; that’s God’s decision. It would’ve been better if Zahid explained why showing off is disliked, rather than calling all creators hell- bound. ”
Zahid Ahmed’s comments on social media and content creators have started a new debate in Pakistan between actors and social media content creators. Some people agree with him about modesty and values, while others do not. The discussion is continuing online.
