Malayalam star Shamla Hamza shot 'Feminichi Fathima' while nursing her six-month-old daughter
Shamla Hamza, who won audience hearts by her remarkable performance in Feminichi Fathima, has received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her work in the movie.
After a successful festival run, the film which premiered last month follows the story of a mother and housewife who tries to finds her voice in a patriarchal household.
According to Pinkvilla, the 32-year-old actress, belongs to Thrithala, Palakkad, has earned acclaim across the Malayalam industry for her sincere and moving acting.
Before joining the film industry, she worked as a radio jockey before acting and during the shooting days of the film she was nursing her six-month old infant daughter.
Reflecting on that period, she said, “It has been difficult, like for any mother. But my director and the crew were extremely supportive and gave me the space and time to look after my baby even amid the shoot.”
As per outlet, she made her acting debut in 1001 Nunakal, which is an anthology drama directed by Thamar K.V, who later co-produced Feminichi Fathima.
At the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) last year, the actress opened up about what drew her to the project. “Many, after watching the film, told me they were waiting for such a simple definition of feminism,” she told Onmanorama during the event.
Notably, the movie directed by Fazil Muhammed, features Kumar Sunil, Viji Viswanath, Praseetha, Raji R Unnsi, and Babitha Basheer in pivotal roles. However, its OTT release date didn't announced yet.
