Madhuri Dixit’s US-Canada tour starts on a sour note
Fans left disappointed as Madhuri Dixit arrives late, skips dance performance in Toronto
Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit’s much-hyped international tour kicked off in Toronto, Canada, on November 2, but things didn’t quite go as planned.
What was supposed to be a grand celebration of dance and nostalgia turned into a night of disappointment for many fans.
Videos from the event flooded social media, with one viewer bluntly warning others: “Don’t attend the Madhuri Dixit tour… save your money.” Comments described the show as chaotic, poorly organised, and a total letdown.
According to several attendees, the 58-year-old actress arrived late, left early, and skipped what everyone had come for, her dance performance. Instead, the night reportedly ended with a short interview session.
One frustrated fan wrote, “They sold us a show featuring the Queen of Dance, and she didn’t dance even once. The choreography was poor, the opening acts dull, and the costumes looked cheap.”
The criticism didn’t stop there, some pointed out that Madhuri, a trained Kathak dancer under the late Pandit Birju Maharaj, didn’t even mention her guru during the event, calling it “a missed chance to honour her roots.”
Amid the backlash, the Devdas star actor has remained silent. Fans also noticed that the comment section on her post announcing the concert has now been turned off.
For now, Madhuri’s North American tour continues, but the Toronto controversy has already left a sour note, and audiences are wondering if the rest of the shows will be worth the ticket price.
