Salman Khan’s much-talked-about film Battle of Galwan is likely to release around mid-2026, skipping the traditional release of his films on the occasion of Eid.

The movie portrays the 59-year-old star in a new avatar, playing the role of Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu. 

This action drama is based on a chapter from India’s Most Fearless 3 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, which is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

A source close to the project said, “The shooting began in September in Ladakh and a major chunk of the film has been shot. The team have already filmed key challenging and action sequences. 

The shooting will be wrapped up in December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will completely focus on the post-production.”

Earlier, there were rumours of releasing the film in January 2026, but that plan has now been ruled out; instead June release is being considered. 

Though the makers are also looking at possible dates in July or August but no date has been confirmed officially yet.

Fans are eager for more updates, especially after the Tiger actor recently shared two new pictures from the film that went viral online.

Many are hoping that a teaser or announcement video might come out on the actor’s birthday, December 27, following a teaser release of King on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday.

Alongside Salman Khan, the movie also features Chitrangda Singh in a key role. 

Earlier reports suggested that Amitabh Bachchan might appear in a cameo, but the director had denied them.
