Two of Tamil cinema’s biggest legends, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, are set to reunite on film in a project titled Thalaivar 173, directed by Sundar C and produced by Haasan’s banner, Raaj Kamal Films International.

The announcement comes after decades of acclaim for both actors, whose careers have hugely influenced South Indian cinema.

The film is described as a “landmark collaboration,” merging Rajinikanth’s celebrated screen presence with Haasan’s storied legacy, while Sundar C brings his trademark directorial energy to the project.
