'Chakda Xpress', starring Anushka Sharma, could soon stream after years of delays
Anushka Sharma, who has been away from the silver screen for over seven years, is finally making headlines with the potential release of her long awaited film Chakda Xpress.
As reported by the outlet, “We have personally written to top executives at Netflix India to see if they can rise above the conflict so that the film can see the light of day. A biopic on a legend like Jhulan di deserves to reach the audience," a source said.
The publication Mid Day further noted that the film has been stuck because Netflix heads reportedly “didn’t like the way the project was shaping up. But it’s still a solid film," adding that the production had also gone over budget.
Currently, the Chakda Xpress is under Netflix’s banner. “The recent victory [of the Indian women’s cricket team] has put the attention back on the biopic. Internal discussions at the streamer have started, and the team is expected to take a final pass this month to determine if it can be released after additional work," another tipster shared.
For the unfamiliar, the upcoming movie is based on the life of cricket legend Jhulan Goswami and is expected to strean on Netflix.
