Arjun Kapoor candidly shared insights about his personal battles and mental health at recent appearance.

During the FICCI Young Leaders Summit, the 40-year-old actor encouraged youth to prioritize their mental well being.

He recalled how the pandemic became a turning point in his life, saying, “COVID gave me ‘a moment of realisation.’ I started therapy after realising that I hadn’t taken care of myself for a decade,” adding that seeking help is nothing to be ashamed of.

In remembrance of his personal losses, the 2 States star stated, “I was mourning and celebrating at the same time. I became a star overnight, but I was only running away from my pain,” referring to the death of his mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor, who went to eternal rest in 2012 just before his debut film released.

The actor also discussed his struggle with weight, as he mentioned, “Losing 50 kilos took me four years. It was as much a mental battle as a physical one. I was lucky to have my mother’s support, but many people don’t have that kind of emotional or financial backing. When you lose your backbone at 25, what can the world do to you?”

Previously, Arjun appeared in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which was released earlier this year and made roughly ₹6.75 crore worldwide. He will next star in No Entry 2.
