Prem Chopra, who has played some of Bollywood’s most memorable villain roles, is now discharged from Lilavati Hospital after being treated for a week for breathing troubles.

The 90-year-old veteran had been admitted on November 8 following difficulty in breathing and was reportedly treated for chest congestion.

Based on latest reports, although he had a viral infection in his lungs he was never in a critical condition. Because of a pre-existing heart issue, he was carefully monitored.

The family confirmed that Chopra had improved and was able to leave the hospital. Actor Sharman Joshi, married to Chopra’s daughter Prerana, had told fans a few days before, “All good thank you, just some tests, back tomorrow."

It is pertinent to mention, the former actor has left a lasting legacy in Indian cinema. With over 380 films, he is known for his powerful villain roles and screen presence.

For the unversed, he began his journey in Punjabi cinema with the National Award winning Chaudhary Karnail Singh. Over the years, his long career and achievements have made him a respected and admired figure in Indian cinema.
