Sonakshi Sinha recently shocked her fans by opening up about a rocky phase in her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal. 

She revealed that they faced “three-year itch” long before they became husband and wife.

The couple, who married in 2024 after seven years of dating, are known for their easy chemistry and playful social-media posts. 

But the 38-year-old actress said the smooth image hid a brief but difficult period.

Speaking on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, the Dabangg star stated that around the third year of dating, things suddenly turned tense.

“We just wanted to pull each other’s hair out,” she admitted, and said they argued often and struggled to understand each other’s point of view, to the point where it felt like nothing was working.

But instead of letting the relationship fall apart, Zaheer pushed for help. 

The  Bhuj actor revealed that he suggested couples therapy, saying he wanted the relationship to work “no matter what”. She agreed, and both went in with an open mind.

What surprised Sonakshi was how quickly things changed. 

She said just two sessions were enough to reset the bond. The therapy helped them understand each other's communication style and stop taking things personally.

“These small small things… it just helped us understand each other so much better,” she said.

The couple, now past their first wedding anniversary, often describes themselves as happier than ever.
