The much-talked-about wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and Bollywood music composer-filmmaker Palaash Muchhal remains stalled, even though Mandhana’s father has now been discharged from hospital.

Shrinivas Mandhana was released from Sarvhit Hospital in Sangli on 25 November, two days after he was rushed in with heart-attack-like symptoms, an emergency that stopped the couple’s wedding rituals just hours before they were to begin.

Doctors later said his condition was stable and that an angiography showed no blockages, giving relief to the family.

But despite the improvement in his health, there is still no movement on the wedding plans. Both families have stayed quiet, and there is no update on when the ceremony might be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, the groom himself became part of the medical drama. A day after the incident, the 30-year-old was admitted to a hospital in Sangli and later shifted to Mumbai. His current condition is unclear.

His mother earlier revealed that he broke down after Shrinivas fell ill and insisted the wedding be postponed until Smriti’s father recovered. She said he cried so much that he required IV fluids and tests, all of which came back normal.

Mandhana, one of India’s most dependable left-hand batters and a leading face of women’s cricket, has wiped all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account.

Muchhal, a Bollywood composer known for Dishkiyaoon, Sweety Weds NRI and now directing Raju Bajewala, has also remained silent.

Meanwhile, a Reddit thread sparked unverified cheating allegations against the musician after screenshots and posts claiming he chatted with another woman began circulating online, adding more curiosity to an already emotional situation.

The couple has been dating since 2019. They kept their relationship hidden for a long time and only went public in July 2024, when they posted an anniversary picture marking five years of togetherness.
