Actor Celina Jaitly has taken a major step by filing a domestic violence complaint in a Mumbai court against her husband, Peter Haag.

Her plea, heard on November 25 before Judicial Magistrate S. C. Tadye, accuses Peter of years of emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse. The court has issued a notice to him and listed the case for December 12.

The 44-year-old actress, represented by Karanjwala & Co, has asked for Rs. 100 crore in damages and Rs. 10 lakh per month in maintenance.

The court filings show that Peter actually filed for divorce first, starting proceedings in Austria in August 2025.

The No Entry star claimed in her plea that she was “helpless” during that time because she didn’t know the language, wasn’t given proper legal help, and felt misled and manipulated.

The Janasheen actor alleged she finally fled Austria after years of “severe abuse” and a constant fear for her safety.

She also accused Peter of blocking her access to their three children, who remain in Austria with him. She now gets one hour of daily telephonic access because of an Austrian court ruling.

Her lawyer said, “She’s been able to speak every day with the children telephonically. So that has been a great victory personally for her.”

Her petition also mentions a disturbing incident after childbirth: “Her stitches had not healed… he grabbed her by the wrist and physically pushed her out of the apartment, saying, ‘Get out of my life.’… A neighbour saw the actress and rushed to her rescue.”

Celina has described her husband as a “narcissistic, self-absorbed individual” with “a short temper and alcoholic tendencies.” Her lawyer added that he often insulted her, saying things like, “You look like my maid” and threatening, “I’ll disfigure your face.”

She also states that after marriage, he stopped her from working, cutting her off from her career.

The petition accuses him of “continuous acts of domestic violence” through their 15-year marriage, leaving her with no choice but to return to India and seek legal protection.
