The upcoming action thriller Dhurandhar has secured its certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), officially becoming the first “A”-rated film in Ranveer Singh’s career.

The certified runtime for Dhurandhar is 214.01 minutes — that’s 3 hours, 34 minutes and 1 second — making it the longest mainstream Hindi film to release in 17 years. The last film to match that length was Jodhaa Akbar in 2008.

To get through censorship, the filmmakers made several alterations like violent visuals in the opening and later parts of the film have been trimmed or replaced.

The name of a minister character was changed to meet certification requirements.

Anti‑drug and anti‑smoking disclaimers (static warnings) were added to scenes depicting substance use.

A voice‑over in Hindi was required for the statutory disclaimer, and the end‑credits section was extended with additional music and scenes.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and backed by Jio Studios along with B62 Studios, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun alongside Ranveer Singh.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 5, 2025.
