AI romance gone wrong: Hira Soomro’s photos with Ranveer spark criticism

Across social media in both India and Pakistan, these days, only one topic seems to dominate every conversation, that is Ranveer Singh's recent release,  Dhurandhar

From reviews, criticism, memes and viral clips to its resemblance to real-life personalities, this spy thriller has created a huge buzz on the internet.

Amid this chaotic atmosphere, a Pakistani actress made a surprising claim about the film, which shocked everyone who read it, though it later proved costly for her.

On Thursday, Pakistani TV actress Hira Soomro posted several photos on Instagram in which she appeared posing romantically with Dhurandhar’s lead actor, Ranveer Singh, against a snowy backdrop.

In the caption, she made a bold claim that, "Now haters will say these are AI ! I was casted in dhuradar movie but the moment i realised its an anti-Pakistan movie i refused it …. A proud Pakistani."

Seeing these photos, netizens paused for a moment, and before many could accept the Jumbish actor's claim as true, a small editing error in the second photo of the carousel exposed the truth, spotted immediately by eagle-eyed users.

In that picture, Hira is shown lying on the snow next to Ranveer, but an extra ear behind her own ear revealed that the images were simply AI-generated visuals made to look realistic.

However, most social media users did not appreciate the actress’s stunt and heavily criticised her for it.

An X user sharing her pictures asked, “Are Pakistani actors okay??” while another declared it “so embarrassing.”

A third user commented, “Seriously? I mean, they keep making anti-Pakistan movies and openly call us terrorists without any solid proof. And still, some of our own celebrities do things like this.”

Another netizen joked, “Kaam esa kro ke indian aur pakistani dono bura bhala kahain.”

The post has been viewed by nearly 8 million people so far.
