Pakistani-Canadian actress Armeena Rana Khan has shocked her fans by opening up about an ongoing health battle she has been fighting secretly, which has greatly affected her life.

Taking to Instagram, the 38-year-old shared a video clip in which she was sitting in a wheelchair, while her husband was seen pushing it.

Sharing a long note with the video, the Rasm-e-Duniya star explained how a knee injury during pregnancy, alongside postpartum depression, personal loss and health scares, worsened to the point where surgery is now unavoidable.

She revealed that she tore her meniscus during pregnancy and did not take proper care of it. As a new mother, she was living in survival mode while dealing with postpartum depression, the loss of a parent, and a genetic condition.

The Ishq Parast actor penned, “Last year, I decided to push things and I took on a small role for Meri Tanhai on HUM TV, I needed to feel some semblance of normality, despite my knee issues, and tbh I was really scared. Gosh, you can even notice a limp in some scenes. I'd gained weight and felt self-conscious about my appearance.”

She added, “While many of you were kind about it, others made fun, and some drama critics were extremely harsh. I avoided reading comments and focused on messages of support and positivity only. Time passed and eventually, my knee started to get worse. Now, I'm waiting for ‘repairs’.”

Fans flooded her comment section with messages of support and praise for fighting the health condition with bravery, and wished her a speedy recovery.

Armeena married British-Pakistani businessman Fesl Khan in 2020. The couple welcomed a baby girl, Amelie Isla, in December 2022.

After staying away from the screen for four years, she made a brief comeback last year with a role in Hum TV’s Meri Tanhai.
