Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner's tragic case has reached a new development.

According to a recent report by PEOPLE, the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, is reportedly under investigation following his parents’ death in a devastating incident.

Multiple sources close to the family have alleged that Rob and Michele’s 32-year-old son killed his parents, however, police have yet to confirm these claims.

It is worth noting that the couple’s son, who has previously spoken openly about his struggles with addiction and periods of homelessness, is now being questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.

Authorities say there have been no arrests so far, and no suspects are currently in custody.

For those unfamiliar, Rob and Michele were found dead by their daughter, Romy, on Sunday, December 14, at their Los Angeles residence.

Shortly after the harrowing discovery, the family issued an emotional statement to Variety.

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time," the family wrote.

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, who met on the set of When Harry Met Sally, had been married since 1989.
