Rakul Preet Singh hits back at cosmetic surgery allegations
Rakul Preet Singh questions ethics of public medical claims after social media analysis of her appearance
Actor Rakul Preet Singh has reacted strongly against "reckless misinformation", after a social media post by a man claiming to be a plastic surgeon suggested she had undergone multiple cosmetic procedures.
In a sharp Instagram response, the 35-year-old actor warned people to be careful about believing unverified medical claims made online.
Calling the post a “fraud alert”, the Boo actress questioned how individuals can publicly diagnose someone’s body without facts, consent, or accountability.
The row began when the doctor shared a video comparing Rakul’s older and recent photographs. He claimed her smile lines had reduced due to Botox, alleged cosmetic work on her jawline, and suggested she had undergone a nose surgery.
While he said the video was meant to “spread awareness”, it quickly drew attention for singling out the actor’s appearance.
The Cuttputlli star did not hold back. She said she had no problem with people choosing cosmetic surgery, but pointed out that physical changes can also come from weight loss and discipline. “Ever heard of that?” she wrote, urging followers to beware of such claims made under the guise of professional authority.
The exchange has reignited debate around ethics on social media, especially the growing trend of analysing celebrities’ faces as public property.
Many users online questioned whether medical professionals should comment on individuals they have never treated.
On the professional front, Rakul was last seen in De De Pyaar De 2, a romantic comedy released in November.
The film, also starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, has been well received by audiences.
