Bollywood star couples are often expected to look perfect. But Saif Ali Khan has offered a little awkward yet honest version of love while talking about his relationship with Kareena Kapoor.

In a recent interview, the 55-year-old actor revisited the early days of their romance and admitted he struggled with insecurity. Kareena was the first working actor he dated, and the reality of her job hit harder than he expected.

The  Race star openly spoke about jealousy and confusion when she worked with other male actors, something he had never dealt with before.

He recalled, “In the beginning, I wasn’t very easy to deal with. Maybe I was a bit jealous and unsure of how to react to her working with other men. It was all new. These are emotions you need to process maturely, and you need a lot of trust and belief in each other… The one that struck me was that my rivals would be her allies, and I was like, ‘How do you work that’ But love triumphs that.”

Over time, the Happy Ending actor says, trust replaced doubt. He learned to put Kareena’s happiness above everything else, even if it meant celebrating a rival’s success.

Speaking about the 45-year-old actress beyond her stardom, the Kal Ho Naa Ho second lead was visibly emotional.

He added, “She is truly an incredible woman, and I am so lucky to be with her because she is one of the most patient and loving people I have met. She is absolutely wonderful. I can go on and on.

I know it’s a bit mushy,” he said. “She makes a wonderful home for us. She’s a very creative person in front of the camera, but she’s equally creative with us.”

The royal couple met on Tashan, married in 2012, and now share two sons, Taimur and Jeh.
