Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner case takes new turn as prosecutors release statement
The shocking murder case involving Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, has taken a new turn.
In a statement released on December 16, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said the couple were allegedly killed by their son, Nick Reiner, in the early hours of December 14 at their Los Angeles home.
"In approximately the early morning hours of December 14, Reiner is accused of fatally stabbing Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, at their home in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue in Brentwood," District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated in the press release, per PEOPLE.
The statement further read, "Nick Reiner fled but was arrested hours later that evening in Exposition Park."
Speaking at a press conference, Hochman said authorities were not able to confirm an exact time of death for either Rob or Michele.
"I’m sorry we don't have that kind of specificity yet," he said. "We’re waiting on the coroner to be able to try and determine as best they can at this point, the time of death."
Prosecutors also confirmed that Nick has been charged with two counts of murder, with special circumstances for multiple murders and use of a deadly weapon, a knife.
For those unversed, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner had been married since 1989 and shared three children together.
