The superior Indian film of the year, Director Aditya Dhar's spy action adventure Dhurandhar, with its leading character Ranveer Singh, will be the first Indian movie of the year 2025 to walk into the club of 1,000,000,000 grosser movies in the world.

The future of the blockbuster is dazzling; trade and industry circles are shocked and amazed with its daily collections that are as solid as a rock.

Dhurandhar is on its way to the coveted milestone of 1000 crores at the global box office, and still, it continues its unstoppable journey through the new lands of earnings.

It is projected the movie will cross the magic number by its fourth Friday posting thus becoming the first Indian movie of 2025 and the ninth of all time to be on the list of the elite club.

The current trends suggest that the spy thriller will conclude its run at the box office with an incredible total of more than 1,200 crores worldwide.

The second biggest grosser of the year is Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 a much expected prequel to his 2022 blockbuster Kantara.

The period folk action drama had a phenomenal start at the box office earlier this year earning more than 850 crores globally.

The prequel notably exceeded the original film's lifetime collection by more than twofold as the latter had barely made 408 crores during its run.

Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava which made its debut in February takes the third spot on the list of the biggest Indian grossers of 2025 with a global collection of over 800 crores.

The film emerged as one of the most significant blockbusters of the year exceeding trade expectations by a wide margin and receiving strong word of mouth across the markets.

In a scenario where the huge scale action exhibitions are availing the maximum revenue at the box office the romantic film Saiyaara produced by Yash Raj Films turned out to be an unexpected and surprising major performer.

The movie which had two newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda in the lead roles, was able to collect almost 600 crores worldwide. Besides it set a new record by becoming the highest grossing Indian romantic drama film ever.

The much anticipated gangster action drama of the superstar Rajinikanth Coolie, ended the year as the fifth-largest box office.

However, the film's expectations were very high as it was considered to be the strongest contender of the 1000-crore finish that the Tamil cinema could deliver. The mixed word of mouth did affect its momentum to some extent and thus the total worldwide gross was a little over 500 crores.
