Agastya Nanda's 'Ikkis': first review out

Agastya Nana’s theatrical debut, Ikkis, has become a very special film as it marks the last screen appearance for Bollywood’s legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24th.

The war drama is set to hit cinemas on January 1st, and prior to this, a special screening was held in Mumbai on December 29, which was attended by big names of the film industry, including Dharmendra’s son Sunny and Bobby Deol.

After this private screening, casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared the first review about the film in detail, praising its storytelling and emotional reflection.

Mukesh took to X (formerly Twitter) and heaped praise on Ikkis. He wrote, “Just watched Ikkis — a film made purely from the heart. Gentle, honest storytelling that stays with you long after it ends. Dharmendra sir… what grace, what depth. If this is your last film, it truly breaks the heart. You’ve left us with something deeply emotional and important. You will be missed, sir.”

He went on to praise Jaideep Ahlawat’s performance, along with Agastya and Simar, and wrote, "And Jaideep Ahlawat — hats off. I genuinely didn’t expect this, and I’m glad to be surprised. A warm welcome to Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia — both were beautiful on screen. Endearing eyes, lovely chemistry. Agastya’s innocence and sincerity truly shine. "

He added, "Special mention to Vivan Shah and Sikandar Kher — outstanding work. And above all — Sriram Raghavan. The man. The master. Once again, sir… once again. A heartfelt film, told with honesty. Cinema that feels personal. @MaddockFilms @JaideepAhlawat."

The biographical war drama is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC, portrayed by the 25-year-old.

The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Rahul Dev, among others.
