Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan addresses body image struggles
Ira Khan shares her ongoing journey with self-worth, mental health, and body image
Ira Khan has opened up about her personal journey dealing with body image concerns and mental health.
On Monday, December 29, the 28-year-old fitness enthusiast took to her official Instagram account to share a candid video.
In the clip, the fitness influencer’s spouse addressed the subject head on, saying, “Let's address the elephant in the room, me. Yes, I'm fat, and I'm actually obese for my age and my height...I'm not as comfortable and confident talking about this as I was with my depression. So, I am not entirely sure how this is going to go...and how I show up in my relationship with Popeye (husband Nupur Shikhare),..”
She further reflected on how deeply these issues have impacted her, comparing their intensity to her experience with depression, adding, “It is as intense as how my depression would sometimes interfere in my life and sometimes still does. So, I want to talk about this."
Moreover, she noted, "I want to try and back what I think and still struggle with – just all of it. I hope it helps me. If it helps you, then plus points. I would recommend not venturing into the comment section. And if you do, then at your own risk. Let's see how it goes.”
Alongside the video, she also penned a detailed caption, which reads, “Yes, I’m fat. Been oscillating between thinking I’m fat/unfit, becoming over-weight and being obese since 2020...I don’t have a diagnosed eating disorder and I’m also not an expert. Just sharing my experiences. Venture into the comment section at your own risk. I know I will be staying far away from it. Let’s see how this goes.”
For the unversed, Ira and Junaid are the children of Aamir Khan and his first wife, Reena Dutta. He later wed filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, and they had a son, Azad, in 2011.
