Akshay Kumar kicked off the New Year quietly and in a relaxing mood, though his work calendar looks anything but calm.

The 58-year-old actor marked the start of 2026 with a thoughtful X (formerly Twitter) post, sharing a photo of himself sitting under an orange tree, whose branches were laden with fruit. 

In the caption, the artist, who is known as a fitness freak, reflects on patience and timing, writing, “Paused under an orange tree, reminding myself that growth takes time and fruit comes when it’s ready. Here’s to a fruitful 2026.” 

Away from the quiet moment, the Khiladi actor is preparing to return to familiar comic territory as he is set to reunite with filmmaker Anees Bazmee for a new comedy, their first collaboration in 15 years. 

Confirming the project to Mid-Day, Bazmee said, “It is a comedy. I am writing the script right now; it’s almost complete. If everything goes as planned, we will start shooting soon.”

The film will mark their fourth outing together after Welcome, Singh Is Kinng and Thank You, movies still remembered for their broad humour and family appeal.

Akshay was last seen in Housefull 5 and will next appear in Welcome To The Jungle, keeping comedy firmly at the centre of his 2026 plans.
