Cynthia Erivo will skip this year’s Golden Globe Awards even after being nominated for the second year in a row.

The Wicked star, who is nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in 2026, won’t attend the event in Beverly Hills on January 11 because she’s “deep in production” in Dracula on the West End in London.

The upcoming show, which will run from February 4 to May 31, is a one-woman show adaptation of Bram Stoker’s horror classic, in which she plays 23 characters, including the vampire role.

While speaking of taking on 23 roles in the latest show, Cynthia told Wonderland Magazine, “I’m petrified. I really am. I’m very scared.”

“But I’m also like — I don’t know, is this sadistic of me — but I’m really excited about it as well,” continued the 38-year-old.

Cynthia added, “It’s absolutely nonsensical and insane.”

It is pertinent to mention that the actress is nominated alongside Rose Byrone, Kate Hudson, Chase Infinit, Amanda Seyfried and Emma Stone.

For those unversed, Cynthia made history with the second nomination, becoming the first Black woman to be nominated in the category twice.

Meanwhile, Wicked: For Good has earned five nominations at the 83rd Golden Globes Awards.
