Bad Bunny faces lawsuit of $16 million over voice recording

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, who also goes by the name, Bad Bunny, recently faced allegations of using voice recording in his songs.

The 31-year-old was reportedly sued for using voice memos in his song, Solo de Mí, released in 2018 and in another song, EoO, that was dropped in 2025.

According to Rolling Stone and Billboard, the lawsuit was filed against the crooner, his producer, La Paciencia (Roberto Rosado), and his label, Rimas Entertainment on January 5, 2026, in Puerto Rico.

The plantiff, a woman named Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera, claimed that her voice recording, which she sent to the producer of Bad Bunny, was used commercially without her consent.

She also claimed that it was at a time when they were classmates, and she recorded the line as a personal favor to him in 2018.

Tainaly also added that she never received any compensation for it, hence she filed for a $16 million case.

It is to be noted that both the artist and his label are scheduled to answer the claims in court in May 2026.

For the unversed, both songs were a hit with a successful launch, high viewership and significant chart performance.
