Saturday Night Live has left fans wondering when the iconic sketch comedy show will return with new episodes in 2026.

The show is currently on an extended holiday break, which will come to an end next weekend with a series of star-studded episodes.

The last new episode of 2025 aired on December 20, with Ariana Grande serving as host and Cher as the musical guest. The episode also marked a farewell to cast member Bowen Yang, who departed the show after that night.

SNL’s holiday hiatus will conclude with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard making his debut as host following the series finale, which premiered on New Year’s Eve. Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the Netflix hit, will lead the January 17 episode.

The 23-year-old actor will be joined by first-time musical guest A$AP Rocky, who previously made a cameo during a 2018 episode hosted by Donald Glover.

January will continue with more high-profile guests. One Battle After Another actress Teyana Taylor will make her hosting debut on January 24 after recently earning a Golden Globe nomination for the film. She will be joined by Geese as the musical guest.

On January 31, Alexander Skarsgård will take the stage as a first-time SNL host while promoting his new film Pillion. Cardi B will join him, marking her second appearance as the show’s musical guest.
