‘The Avengers’ actor weighs in on possible future in politics
Mark Ruffalo, best known for playing Bruce Banner/ The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has shared his thoughts on the possibility of entering politics someday.
In an interview with Us Weekly, the 58-year-old actor did not completely rule out the idea of running for office.
While he said it is not something he is considering at the moment, he acknowledged that it could happen in the future.
Ruffalo explained that he would not mind stepping away from his successful acting career "to do something good for millions of Americans."
"It isn’t on my game card right now, but who knows. I mean, you never say never," he said.
However, the Poor Things actor noted that such a move would be entirely new for him, as he has spent most of his life working in the arts and entertainment industry.
"I mean, I spent a lot of time in that world, and acting - it’s for the people. So, I love the people, and politicians could be doing something good for the people," he added.
Elsewhere in the wide-ranging conversation, Ruffalo also praised Zohran Mamdani’s appointment as New York City mayor.
"Seeing Mamdani’s win in New York has really excited me about what’s possible in the United States right now," he said.
Ruffalo, who has long been an outspoken advocate on social and political issues, is set to star in Crime 101, which is scheduled for a global theatrical release on February 13, 2025.
