Fran Drescher has recently reflected on her experience working with Timothée Chalamet in latest movie, Marty Supreme.

The American actress, who plays Chalamet’s mother in the Josh Safdie movie, praises about her onscreen son in this cover story for PEOPLE magazine.

“He's delightful,” she tells the outlet.

Drescher mentions that it's not like Chalamet “wanted to be my best friend or anything. Even though I was open to it! But he's a young lad, living his dream”.

“I'm very happy for him. His success is well deserved,” remarks the 68-year-old while gushing over the actor’s acting.

Elsewhere in the interview, The Nanny star also talks about his acting prowess, adding, he’s “very, very talented”.

“I've always been a big fan of his. I like everything he does. I was delighted to be cast as his mom,” she states.

Meanwhile, Drescher reveals that she got this role because of the 2023 actors' strike as president of SAG-AFTRA.

At the time, the actress and director Safdie got in contact with each other and eventually they became friends.

“And then Marty Supreme was his next movie that was lined up, and Josh felt like me and Timmy kind of looked alike. And he said, 'I know your background, and I know there's a depth to you that I want to extract for this movie. I know you've got that in you,’” recalls Drescher.

“You have to love a director like that. It's always the good ones,” she concludes.
