Isabelle Kaif reacts to immigration crackdown video
Isabelle Kaif’s social media activity sparks discussion on ICE raids in Minneapolis
Actress Isabelle Kaif has made headlines by reacting to a video against the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, which is backed by US President Donald Trump.
The 35-year-old actress made her official acting debut through the Bollywood film Time to Dance in 2021, portraying a ballroom dancer. Prior to this, she appeared in Dr. Cabbie (2014) and some music videos.
The actress drew attention during the ongoing tense situation in the US when she liked a video critical of Trump.
The particular video was posted by the US news organization NY Times, and it is a compilation of different clips where ICE agents were seen aggressively inquiring residents about their ID and forcefully pushing the protestors or those who tried to record their actions.
The video was shared with the caption, “As the Trump administration escalates its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, arrests and aggressive tactics by ICE and the Border Patrol, many seen on viral videos, have intensified the frustration and fear among residents, business owners and immigrant workers.”
The sentiments against the US federal agency Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) surged after Renee Good, 37, was shot dead by an immigration agent in Minneapolis last week, triggering large protests in the city.
However, President Trump backed these crackdowns, saying that agents were "patriots" who were removing convicted criminals, and warned of a "day of reckoning" for Minnesota.
The situation has turned into a legal battle between the State of Minnesota and the Trump administration.
While these raids led to unrest and brought a sense of fear among the masses, social media is filled with videos and photos of the actions of ICE agents, which are being called “illegal” and “brutal.”
At the same time, a 'like' from famous Bollywood star Katrina Kaif’s sister was not gone unnoticed and showed her stance on the recent Immigration raids.
