Ali Larter has found her feet in Hollywood with television series Landman, but it was a tough nut to crack to land the role.
The actress stars as Angela Norris on the show which will wrap its season 2 on Sunday.
However, she did not secure the role easily.
Ali revealed that the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan put her though a cruel process to finalise her ofr the role.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ali recalled how she was told to read four pages of the script during the initial stages, followed by 10, and it kept on getting more difficult.
“For the third round, they called us all down to screen test in Fort Worth. I got down there and I was in a room with 11 other women.” she recalled.
The actress described the process as a “mental” game.
She added that the creator of the show puts candidates through these rounds of high pressure to assess if they can sustain.
“As much as it sounds cruel, I can actually look back on it now as a way of editing out who can handle and withstand the heat.”
