Teyana Taylor breaks silence on encounter with Julia Roberts

Teyana Taylor has reacted to Julia Roberts’ surprising "eat a sandwich" remark at the 2026 Golden Globes.

On the red carpet, on January 11, the 35-year-old actress got emotional meeting one of her favourite stars.

In a viral video, the 58-year-old actress teases the One Battle After Another star for being "teeny tiny," and jokingly said, "You need to eat a sandwich," as they hugged.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on January 14, Teyana admitted that she took Julia’s comment as a compliment.

"I’ve seen people trying to get on her about that,” she stated. Continuing, "I was like, ‘Hold on.’ She told me I needed a sandwich because she couldn’t find my waist. She was like, ‘Girl, you need a sandwich.’ It was so cute.”

The All’s Fair actress further reflected on her encounter with the Pretty Woman actress on the red carpet, saying, "It was so amazing. I just remember her parting the sea for me. She came through like Moses.”

"She was floating. It was so scary how perfectly she was floating," she added.

“I just dove into her arms. It was just the cutest moment and I started crying.”
