President Donald Trump joins the landmark deal for the streaming giant: Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery merge.

In mid-December, shortly after the two streaming platforms signed the merger deal, Trump purchased corporate bonds from Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery, according to the latest financial disclosure.

The financial disclosure report released by the Office of Government Ethics reveals Trump purchased between $250,001 and $500,000 of Netflix bonds on December 12, and the same range on December 16.

On December 12, the president bought $250,001 to $500,000 in Discovery Communications bonds, with similar amounts on December 16.

Nearly 200 transactions in corporate and municipal bonds were reported in November and December, including these purchases.

Although a White House spokesperson hasn’t commented on the request, they have addressed financial decisions previously with Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg, the spokesperson said that independent financial managers made the decisions, not Trump or his family.

On December 5, Netflix announced its acquisition of Warner Bros., including HBO and HBO Max, while the cable channels would spin off into a separate entity.

Warner Bros. Discovery later rejected a rival Paramount bid, which had launched a hostile takeover attempt of the media giant.
