Neha Kakkar’s deleted posts spark concern among fans
Neha Kakkar deletes emotional notes, leaving fans guessing amid criticism of her latest song
Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar shocked her fans on Monday by briefly signalling that she might be stepping away from everything that comes with fame.
The 37-year-old posted a series of emotional Instagram stories that were up for only a few minutes before being deleted. Still, screenshots travelled fast.
One message sounded like a quiet farewell to her current life. “Time to take a break from Responsibilities, Relationships, Work and Everything I can think of right now. Not sure if I’ll be back or not. Thank you,” the Garmi vocalist wrote.
Another post followed almost immediately, this time addressing the outside world directly. “I request paparazzi and fans to not to film me at all… No cameras plz! I request, this is the least you all can give me for my peace.”
The sudden tone shift left her followers confused and worried. The Dilbar singer has not explained what prompted the posts, but the timing has raised questions.
Her latest song, Candy Shop, released on 15 December 2025 with brother Tony Kakkar, faced harsh criticism online.
The track’s styling and choreography were widely mocked, with memes questioning its attempt to mirror K-pop visuals.
It is not the first time the pressure has shown. Earlier this year, a video of Kakkar crying on stage in Melbourne went viral after she was booed for arriving late to a concert.
Family tensions have also played out publicly, including a brief and unexplained online rift with sister Sonu Kakkar last year.
For now, Neha Kakkar has gone quiet again. Whether this is just a short digital break or something related to her personal life remains unclear.
