Indian actress Rani Mukerji recently spoke about her bond with her daughter, Adira Chopra, and shared how different her daughter’s generation was from her own.

During an interaction, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress reflected on parenting a Gen Alpha child and said she often felt scared of Adira’s fearless nature.

Rani said she had became more careful about how she communicated with her daughter, as parenting styles had changed over time. Speaking about generational differences, she said, “She is Gen Alpha, so she fires me, and I have to listen to her. Every generation changes.”

The Talaash actress recalled how discipline worked during her childhood and explained why that approach no longer applied. “I used to get slaps from my mom. I can’t expect to do that with her because she would slap me back,” she said, adding that Adira’s confidence surprised her.

Rani also shared that her daughter reminded her of her late father, Ram Mukherjee, especially when it came to feedback and encouragement. She said Adira had become her biggest supporter and took pride in her work.

“My daughter has taken my father’s place. She is my biggest cheerleader today,” Rani said, while adding that Adira found it difficult to watch emotional scenes from her films and preferred seeing her happy on screen.

Her next film, Mardaani 3, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, and produced by her husband, YRF's Aditya Chopra, is slated to hit the screens on January 30
