Classic 80s franchise ‘Masters of the Universe’ gets big-screen reboot
Masters of the Universe had its first teaser ahead of the official teaser trailer release tomorrow.
The film, based on the classic 1980s toy brand, stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley.
Kristen Wiig also joins the cast as the voice of Roboto, with Jared Leto and Idris Elba.
As per the official plot line, the film follows Prince Adam (Galitzine), who is reunited with the Sword of Power after 15 years apart, drawing him back to Eternia only to find his world in ruins under the ruthless grip of Skeletor (Leto).
With his family and kingdom on the brink, Adam teams up with his trusted allies Teela (Mendes) and Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms (Elba), as he steps into his destiny and transforms into He-Man: the most powerful man in the universe.
The Masters of the Universe will hit theaters in the U.S. on June 5 by Amazon and MGM Studios. However, Sony Pictures will release the picture internationally.
