A high profile pairing is taking shape as Mark Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed prepare to star in the thriller The Big Fix, as per sources revealed to Deadline.

Guy Bolton and Justin Haythe have taken the responsibility of writing the script while Baltasar Kormákur is producing with Peter Chernin and David Ready.

Bennett Walsh and Jenno Topping are also on board and will serve as executive producers.

The plot of the crime thriller takes inspiration from a true story.

The upcoming film centers on a former interpol cop working in FIFA’s bureaucracy who uncovers a global match fixing scandal.

His prime target is a daring hustler who decides to team up with Chinese Triads to manipulate football games for massive profit. As the two men get close in on each other, the stakes rise as they collide in a dangerous game of strategy and survival.
