Prue Leith quit the show after nine years
Nigella Lawson is being tipped to replace Prue Leith on The Great British Bake Off after she quit the show.
Prue starred on the show for nine long years before announcing her departure.
As per The Sun, TV cook Nigella is in the final stages of contract discussions and will join the show soon.
“Nigella’s recognised worldwide. She’s got the cheeky banter down to a tee, with all her work laden with the fun innuendos and naughty patter that are synonymous with Bake Off.” a source reported.
In 16 years of the show’s running, Nigella will be the fourth judge to appear on the mainline show.
Nigella will join Paul Hollywood, who has been starring in the show since its first season in 2010.
She is known for her pre-existing shows like Nigella: At My Table and The Taste. Her most recent appearance was a one-off special for the BBC, Nigella's Amsterdam Christmas.
Announcing her departure, Prue said “Bake Off has been a fabulous part of my life for the last nine years, I have genuinely loved it.”
