Dhanush will make his cinematic debut this summer which he will accomplish through his role in the action movie Kara.

The actor has revealed his upcoming project which he has currently named D55 before its actual launch date. The upcoming film will be directed by Amaran fame Rajkumar Periasamy marking his first collaboration with the actor.

The movie first announced its partnership with a different production company before the producers resigned from their contractual obligations to transfer full project rights to Dhanush's production company.

Reports state that Sai Pallavi is being considered for the female co-lead role in the film. The story currently suggests that Mammootty is negotiating to play an important part in the movie. The movie makers have not yet confirmed these details which remain unannounced.

If the speculation turns out to be true it would mark the second time Dhanush and Mammootty share the screen following the Maari actor’s cameo appearance in the 2013 Malayalam film Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath.
