Vishal Jethwa finally broke his silence after Homebound failed to secure an Oscars 2026 nomination.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the young Bollywood star stated that even though the news was disappointing but he is greatful for being involved and proud of the team’s efforts.

He penned, "Yes, we couldn’t make it to the Oscars nominations, and of course, it broke the hope we carried with us. But I believe failure is not when you fail; it’s when you don’t try."

He went on to add, "And the only thing the whole Homebound team did from the very first day was to just TRY."

Additionally, he shared pride that the film made it to the top 15, and pointing out that being involved in an Oscars recognized project exceeded anything he had dreamed of.

Furthermore, he concluded his post, noting, “Will always be grateful to Jogi sir, Neeraj sir, and Karan sir. My love and respect to Ishaan, Janhvi, and my Homebound family. Now sticking to the Guru mantra of life taught by my Guruji, Shoaib Khan sir. Thank you, BHAGWAN."

For the unversed, Homebound did not got selected to the Best International Feature Film category for the 98th Academy Awards. 

The official nominees are The Secret Agent, It Was Just An Accident, Sentimental Value, Sirat, and The Voice of Hind Rajab.
