Ahead of Jan 30 release, ‘Mardaani 3’ undergoes censor changes
Rani Mukerji returns as the fierce officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 after her two successful films Mardaani and Mardaani 2.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) produced the film which was initially planned to premiere on February 27. The film will now enter theaters on January 30 because it was preponed from its earlier release date.
The production team finished the censoring process because they met the required schedule. The article will present an exclusive report about the cuts which affected the action thriller according to Bollywood Hungama.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) required the filmmakers to include drug disclaimers in their movie. The word “bachhi” was replaced with “ladki”. The filmmakers needed to prove the actress age because the scene contained sexual violence.
The original scene which showed a girl being slapped needed to change its visual elements. The English subtitles changed the word “wh**e” to “trader” for translation purposes.
The derogatory term which referred to mother was silenced. The word which referred to sexual organs was changed to appropriate terms. The CBFC demanded that the filmmakers replace all terms which showed negative views about the Government of India.
The filmmakers had to remove specific country names from a particular scene. The makers of the film provided a clarification about a dialogue which kidnappers used according to the CBFC request. The creators of the film needed to add informational material about child and woman trafficking to their project.
The modifications which were executed on Mardaani 3 resulted in its approval for a U/A 16+ certification which occurred on January 14. The censor certificate states that the film has a runtime of 137.07 minutes. Mardaani 3 has a total running time of 2 hours and 17 minutes and 7 seconds.
