Kristen Dunst is reacting over his husband’s Oscars snub with a little sarcasm.

After Academy Award nominations were announced on Thursday, January 23, Dunst shared a meme posted by her husband Jesse Plemons’ Bugonia co-star, Stavros Halkias.

The actress shared the social media interaction in support of Plemons’ performance in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed film.

“Me to everyone who didn’t nominate Jesse Plemons for best actor tho,” Halkias wrote, pairing the caption with a selfie featuring a sticker of a hand pointing a gun at the camera.

In Bugonia, Plemons portrays Teddy, a conspiracy theorist who plots with his cousin Don (Aidan Delbis) to kidnap a powerful CEO, played by Emma Stone, convinced she is an alien planning world domination.

Plemons had been nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, an award that ultimately went to Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme.

This is not Plemons’ first brush with Oscar recognition.

In 2022, he earned his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for The Power of the Dog, the same film that saw Dunst receive her first nod in the Best Supporting Actress category.

With Dunst amplifying the conversation, fans are rallying on social media, calling for overdue recognition of Plemons’ compelling turn in Bugonia.
