Police seize Mayur Patel’s Fortuner as actor allegedly drives under the influence in Bengaluru
Kannada actor Mayur Patel has taken into police custody after a late night drink and drive incident in Bengaluru, sparking a multi vehicle collision.
On Tuesday night, the crash took place around 10 pm on Old Airport Road near the Commando Hospital signal, when Patel, was reportedly driving a Fortuner SUV when he hit a stopped car at the traffic light, causing a chain reaction that damaged four other vehicles, including two Swift Dzires and a government car.
According to the Times Now, the Halasuru Traffic Police quickly arrived on the scene and conducted a breathalyser test, which reportedly returned a positive result for alcohol consumption.
“The actor was driving under the influence and caused multiple damages,” a police insider told the publisher.
Following the collision, he allegedly argued with one of the affected vehicle owners before police intervened.
As per outlet, the authorities took his Fortuner, and a formal case was registered at Halasuru Traffic Police Station after the affected drivers complained.
In addition to acting, Mayur has ventured into production and direction, and has also served as a singer and music composer, mainly for Passenger (2014).
