Golden by K-pop Demon Hunters has brought K-pop to the Grammys.
K-Pop Demon Hunters' song performed by the fictional band Huntr/x becomes the first ever K-Pop song to win a Grammy Award
The song won the Best Song for Visual Media category as the award ceremony took place in Los Angeles. Golden is also nominated for one of the Big Four categories, Song of the Year.
K-Pop Demon Hunters became Netflix’s most-watched film ever after it was released in June and racked up over 480 million views.
Its energetic, hook-laden soundtrack made waves as well, marking the first time a film score topped the Billboard charts since Disney’s Encanto in 2022.
The movie’s Grammy recognition highlights the rising cultural and commercial impact of Korean pop music on a global scale.
Blackpink’s Rosé is also in contention for three awards this Sunday for her hit APT, including Song and Record of the Year.
In a nod to K-pop’s influence, the Recording Academy welcomed several genre artists to its voting body last August, including Seventeen’s Woozi, Enhypen’s Jungwon, and Le Sserafim’s Huh Yunjin, highlighting the community’s growing clout in the industry.
